About
I’m Nichola, a creative and curious Graphic Designer. I’m driven by a desire to create sophisticated design solutions that deliver meaningful change on an individual, community, and human level. Overall, I strive to do good work for good people.
I get geeky about design that works well and believe that great design should have a positive impact on everyday lives; it’s the soft-close drawers that reduce harsh noises in busy family homes, the user-friendly app I go to to manage my life admin, or the clear labelling on the restaurant menu that makes managing my dietary requirements dignified and stress-free. If it looks great too — incredible. Maybe those aren’t the sexiest examples… but think about those soft-close drawers.
This website showcases some of my professional Graphic Design work for the likes of Bishop’s Stortford College, Hotel Chocolat, and Winged Boots, as well as personal projects and experiments. The @ladywatto Instagram account will give you more of a personal insight into my life, my love of photography, and snippets of my creative process.
When I’m not at my desk (or sketchbook, or notepad, whatever tool I’m designing with that day), you’ll likely find me messing around with a guitar or off taking photos (putting that photography degree to good use capturing dogs looking adooooorable). I love to travel. I love to cook. I love music, and I love to tell stories. I believe I have surrounded myself with good humans and am determined to be a little silly until I am a very, very old lady.
